A Citizen’s Assembly, or A Citizen’s Assembly, is an unconventional play. Developed by British artist Andy Smith in collaboration with Lynsey O'Sullivan, the play tells the story of a group of people who gather in a room to discuss the climate emergency in their local areas. The audience members themselves play these characters. Over the course of three acts, conversations take place, culminating in the creation of a collective manifesto.

The show is part of the 29th edition of CIF as one of the components of the Create for Changeinitiative, a cross-departmental effort by Cultura Inglesa dedicated to climate action through creativity and youth artistic expression. It spans the organization internally, linking pedagogical projects on the climate crisis with English language learning, bringing the topic to branches, partner schools, and franchises. Externally, it gains visibility through public events that include artistic performances, debates, and other activities during CIF. In this way, the project operates both as educational content in the network's daily life and as cultural programming for the festival.

The project is led by the Arthur Arnaldo company (Soledad Yunge and Tuna Serzedello), who are responsible for facilitating the assembly.

Andy Smith is a theater maker based in Lancaster, in the northwest of England. In addition to an extensive list of theatrical productions and collaborations, he also works as a lecturer in theater practice at the University of Manchester.

The Cia. Arthur-Arnaldo was founded in 1996 and has been developing projects with and for young people since 2007 through theatrical productions and artistic-pedagogical initiatives.
