One of the most prominent names in contemporary Brazilian music, Agnes Nunes moves fluidly between genres such as MPB, forró, and Brazilian R&B. In this show, she presents O Amor e suas Variáveis, her second studio album, released in 2024, which she has been touring across Brazil. As the title suggests, the songs explore love and its many facets—passion, heartbreak, and moving on. Especially for the 29CIF, the singer will also perform interpretations of original songs in English.
Agnes Nunes was born in Feira de Santana, Bahia, on April 5, 2002. She moved with her family to the Paraíba hinterlands as a baby, establishing deep roots in Northeastern culture. Her professional journey is marked by a meteoric rise fueled by digital platforms, beginning when she was just 14 and started recording videos on her phone to post online just for fun. She officially launched her career in 2019 and recorded her first album by 2022. In just a few years, Agnes has released 35 songs and won two awards: the Gold Lion in the "Entertainment" category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, and the 2022 Brazilian Youth Award. With remarkable candor, she sings about personal themes and lends her voice to the fight against racism.
All ticket proceeds from the show will be donated to the Paraisópolis community, where Cultura Inglesa operates a center offering free English courses to local residents. This initiative aligns with the Festival's social and environmental commitment, which has been growing stronger over the years.
