Slam do Corpo is Brazil's first poetry slam featuring both deaf and hearing poets. Coordinated by Léo Castilho and Érika Mota, the event takes place in the MASP Free Space (Vão Livre) within the Casa María Lionza installation, created by Venezuelan artist Sol Calero, which has occupied the space since July. This event marks the launch of a unique partnership for the festival.

Slam do Corpo was created in 2014 through an exchange between the Núcleo Bartolomeu de Depoimentos and poet Daniel Minchoni. The concept features pairs of poets who create and perform simultaneously in Libras and Portuguese. Sometimes the languages follow their own distinct grammars; other times they intertwine—a phenomenon the group calls a "kiss of languages." The battle is hosted by a pair of slammasters, one deaf and one hearing, with interpreters, a DJ, and a jury selected on the spot. For this event, Léo Castilho and Erika Mota will serve as MCs for two hours of activities.

Accessibility is in the DNA of the CIF, and for this activity, that commitment is even more significant because it is not an add-on service to the festival program, but the attraction itself: the poetic material itself. In a space of intense, free, and diverse circulation like the MASP Free Space, the activity gains even more power.
