This workshop offers a practical immersion in bilingual (Portuguese/English) scenic creation, based on the development process of the award-winning play Cheese and Guava or Romeo and Juliet, presented in two sessions during the 29CIF on October 31st. Through physical, vocal, and composition exercises, participants will explore different forms of cross-language communication, reflecting on presence, translation, and bilingualism.

Cheese and Guava or Romeo and Juliet is a tragicomic play inspired by the most famous Shakespearean classic, Romeo and Juliet, and romantic songs by Roberto Carlos. This bilingual production explores themes such as colonialism and cultural division in a cabaret format.
